We Made a Show!
From 2019-2021, we produced all 5 seasons of CAKE, which aired on FXX. Our team worked closely with our partners at FX to develop the conceptual framework for CAKE’s interwoven mix of live-action, animation, and music. In addition to putting the larger show together, we partnered with artists to produce original content, and we curated the music featured throughout each episode.

Interstitials
Building on the foundation of diverse voices and talent, it was important to us to cultivate a space for the intersection of other mediums as well — so we added music as the cohesive glue.
By curating emerging musicians and pairing their songs with independent animators, we created “interstitials” — musical visualizers that thread together the pieces of each episode. These collaborations not only served to tie an episode together thematically, but exist as independent meditative works, adding a dimensionality to CAKE that amplified the artistry across the board.
Original Animated Productions
We partnered with animators and directors around the world — from New Zealand to Austria, Italy to Chile, Norway to New York — to create original shorts featured in the show.
By working with these creators to develop their ideas from scratch, building out their teams, and offering production support throughout all phases of the process, we provided a platform where independent artists could shine.
